I had forgotten to skip my Julep subscription this month so I was sent a box even though I have not painted my nails in about 5 months now. I guess I didn’t mind too much since I received two of the most gorgeous neons that I’ve ever seen! The box that I received had 3 polishes and no beauty products. The colors I received this month were Bailey, Maren and Flora. While I didn’t care for Baily too much, I just loved the gorgeous blue flashes in Maren and Flora. I will definitely be using these in a couple of months!
What kind of a Spring day is it when you wake up to snow on the ground?? That’s exactly how this Tuesday in NYC started. Even now, with the sun out, you can still see remnants of snow on the ground and on some of the cars. If only the weather wasn’t so unpredictable this year..
Anyways here is another one of my polishes where I had pictures ready but did not have the time to post about. A pretty pigment packed purple from Color Club. The color is Puccilicious and it does remind me of the brands colorful swirls. I did find this polish to be a tad streaky but look at how pretty that color is.
For a while now it armed that the only colors I had been wearing since the end of summer were blues and greens. I decided I needed to get out of this nail funk, and decided to go with a color that was slightly more energetic and mood lifting.
I have some Sephora rhinestone studded nail strips in Fireworks for a while now and decided to finally use them. These are the sticker kind, and not the real polish kind so I did not need to use the while pack at once. I decided to just use the bling strips as an accent and do the rest of my nails in a contrasting color that will look move with the purple and pink of the nail strips. So I decided to go with Sally Hansen’s Cherry Cherry Bang Bang which I had posted about in the past. The end result was a look that I really enjoyed and will probably do again in the future.

It’s gotten surprisingly chilly surprisingly fast this year. Its only Sept 17 and you basically NEED a jacket already. I remember this time last year, I was still sweating in the heat. I’m already starting to steer away from my usual summer brights and am reaching more towards light and medium shades. A couple of days ago I wore one of my polishes from Gosh. Gosh is a UK brand but its available at some of the Duane Reade’s in NYC. Lavender Love is a special edition color and I just love how its so incredibly smooth and easy to apply. This is fully opaque in two coats and the formula is just so easy to work with. Also their special edition packaging is super pretty and cute.
Summer’s coming to an end although it really didn’t seem like we had much more than a week of summer here in New York. After the one week heat wave, everything got pretty chilly and brisk. I have been wearing a cardigan for almost 3 weeks now because the mornings are so cold. Its time to transition to fall and I have been shying away from my usual super brights and neons.
I picked up Essie’s Madison Avenue Hue a couple of weeks ago at the nail supply store I used to frequent. I haven’t really picked up too much nail polish this year as most of my funds have been going into subscription boxes.
Anyways this color is nice and saturated, two coats provided good coverage. It reminds me of Essie’s Splash of Grenadine with some silver shimmer. Also I am holding a tube of one of my favorite candies.. FRUITIPS!! I do remember them tasting significantly more flavor saturated but they are still super delish. Its a black currant gummy with granulated sugar coating. If you have these available to you, pick them up and give them a try. They really are superb.
I hope everyone has had a chance to take advantage of the big Sephora by OPI deal thats going on right now. The polishes are usually $8 or $9 a piece but right now are $10 for 3! I dont have too many of these but hope my swatches help some of you guys make your minds on a couple of colors that you might be interested in getting.
I picked up the Jenna Hipp nail polish collection at Costco earlier in the summer. I was pretty excited to see this at Costco and at such an awesome price to considering they are five free. It was only $15 for a set of twelve mini polishes.
I had tried to swatch these earlier but had such a hard time and everything was all goopy and gross. I’m so glad I had tried then again because application was nothing like the first time. Maybe I shouldn’t try to do my nails during the heat wave eh?
My mini collection of Borghese polishes are all swatched below. My ABSOLUTE favorite out of the ones I have is definitely Purple Confetti. I love how the polish dried matte and how the glitter looks in this dark matte purple … Continue reading →
Duri is a brand that I’ve never had too many polishes from. I’m not sure why not more stores carry them, but I can only find them at beauty salons and one nail supply store. Anyways onwards to my few … Continue reading →
As I had mentioned in one of my previous posts, I was working on swatching all the polishes I had. One of the smaller collections is from Sally Hansen, their Xtreme wear line that I only have 4 polishes from. … Continue reading →
