This months Birchbox was a happy interruption to my stressful week at work.  It arrived on one of the worse days I’ve had so far this year and the bright pink box made me forget my worries for a while.  All the items this month are ones that I would use so I was glad about that.  Also Hubz was able to enjoy a bit of this months box as well as he gobbled up the Ghirardelli Cherry Tango Chocolate.

Delayed February 2014 Glossybox – The Month of Love

I haven’t been blogging for months now because so much had happened.  I had some health and financial issues arise and that had taken more time and stressed me out so much that I haven’t really want to do much.  Anyways let’s kick things off with a Glossybox reveal!  My February Glossybox was delayed in shipping or something because I usually get my Glossyboxes around the last week of the month, but this time I didnt get it until the 7th of March.

The sneak peeked items this month were Lauren B Beauty’s nail color in City of Angels and Sumita eyeliner.  The other items that were in my box this month were Anatomicals Eye bag patches, Figs and Rouge lip balm and Pureology Multitasking spray.  The Figs and Rouge lip balm is a repeat item for me, as I have previously received it in another Glossybox.  It has become one of my favorite balms however so I dont mind the duplicate.

  • Sumita Beauty Kala Color Intense Pencil in Black .06 oz $15 value
  • Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom Lip Balm .42 oz $9 value

Beauty For Real – Just Lust Lipgloss

wpid-Beauty-fr-just-lust1.jpgWantable’s make up subscription was what introduced me to the Beauty For Real brand.  This gloss is my first try at the brand and I love the ingenuity of the packaging so much.

The gloss is housed in a clear square plastic container with a mirror on the side of the tube.  The creators really had on the go application in mind when designing this, as there is a button on the cap of the applicator that turns on a light on the inside of the wand making in the dark make up application possible.  The packaging is so genius and so practical and I just love it.  I love not needing to pull out a mirror to apply my lipgloss at a restaurant or on the train.  The color of the gloss is perfect for me to attain that MLBB (my lips but better) look.  The gloss itself is a bit heavy but I deal with it as I think the convenience of not needing to use a separate mirror its worth it.

Nicka K Nail Polish in NY139

I received this Nicka K nail polish in the December’s Ipsy bag.  I never heard of Nicka K before so I was surprised to see that they are the same company that makes the Absolute face wipes.  I received color NY139 which is Ripe Apple.  This polish retails on their website for $4.99 and is 3-free.  The polish bottle looks quite fancy but it does make storage a bit of a pain.  The handle is long and slender and feels good in your hands during application.

During application, I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth and pigmented the polish was.  Since I have never heard of the brand before, my preconceptions of the polish were not too optimistic.  On my nails is just ONE coat of the nail color, that is how pigmented this polish was.

Zoya Nail Polish in Blaze

Zoya nail polish always has a great formula and wears quite well on my nails.  Blaze is from their 2012 Holiday collection.  It is a GORGEOUS deep red with holographic glitter.  I didn’t think too much of this color when I saw swatches of it online last year but when I saw this on the wife of one of my coworkers, I had to find out what she was wearing.  When she told me what color it was I was quite surprised since it looked so much better in real life than it did on swatches online.  I picked it up immediately and have waited almost a whole year to wear this gorgeous festive red.

Please excuse the fuzzy picture as I wanted to show all the gorgeous holographic glittery goodness!

December 2013 Ipsy Bag Celebration

I have been with Ipsy since they first started and this months makeup bag is my favorite!  It is black plastic with a quilted design.  It is also quite firm and looks like its made a lot better than their usual make up bags.  Also its contents this month were quite good as well!

I expected a bit of a Holiday theme since it is December.  The only item that I received that was kind of holidayish is the red nail polish from Nicka K.  There was also another Be A Bombshell product in this months bag.  This seems to be a favorite brand of theirs.  Not that I mind, the Be a Bombshell lip crayon from last month’s bag actually made its way into my everyday makeup bag.  Thats how much I enjoyed it.  There also seems to be less care in shipment since they’ve gotten so big as I have received damaged items two months in a row now.  My Pop Beauty eyeshadow trio arrived chipped.  There was also a fragrance sample in this months bag but mine arrived almost empty due to a leak.

Orly Nail Polish in Lucky Duck

It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas!  We just got hit with lots of snow today, then it started raining in the evening and it looks like all the cars have ice on their windshields.  I want to try to feature more red and green polishes coming up for anyone who hasn’t decided on colors for their Christmas Manis yet.

Orly’s Lucky Duck is a color that matches my artificial Christmas tree perfectly.  I find it hard to describe the color but it reminds me a lot of children’s toys.  Formula is good on this, and the polish is a nice cream with no shimmer.  On my nails is two coats of this color.

November 2013 Empties

wpid-IMG_20131214_011126.jpgIts been a while since I posted an entry.  Its the peak retail season right now and work has just been crazy!  I recently realized how much clutter I had in my room, and bathroom, and living room, and etc etc.  Hubz keeps telling me to clear my stuff and not to keep leaving nail polish and lotions and such all over the house.  And so I am trying to use up a lot of the partially used products to start clearing out some of my products.

I usually don’t finish using up enough products to post about so this is actually my first empties post ever and its actually a big one.  I ever thought I can actually finish using up so many products in a month.  Just keep in mind that a lot of these products have been used before and I just happened to finish using them in November.

wpid-IMG_20131214_011240.jpgBumble and Bumble Surf Spray mini – this is my absolute summer hair staple, there was just a little left and this was finished being used up when I was salvaging some second day hair in November.  I love this product have 2 more backups of this

Aveda Shampure – I’ve had this for a long time now and only use this occasionally when I feel like my hair has a lot product buildup.  I love how my scalp feels a bit tingly, it makes me feel like its cleaning extra well.

John Freida conditioner – This was from my John Freida foaming hair dye from when I colored my hair a few months back.  It was only okay, my favorite hair dye conditioner is from the Loreal Open hair dye.  That conditioner just smelled so amazing!!

wpid-IMG_20131214_011323.jpgLush Brazen Honey mask – I heard this product was good for acne prone skin so picked it up to try out since I’ve been starting to break out again.  I don’t notice any improvement in my skin and I have used it 2-3 times a week in November.  Hubz can’t take the smell so I can only use it after he goes to bed.

Ole Hendricksen Sheer transformation – This is just a lightweight moisturizer.  I got this in a set with their vita C serum that I also use.  I don’t think this moisturizer is very special, its light enough to use in the summer, but feels a bit lacking now in the fall and winter.

Etude Baking powder scrub – I bought two boxes of this scrub in my first GMarket haul.  I accidentally licked some once and ever since then have been a bit hesitant to use it.  It really does taste exactly like baking powder

Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal face scrub – This is a very gentle scrub.  It was my first jojoba scrub and I was surprised at how gentle it was.  I love the scent of this product and this product is gentle enough for every day use.  I wash my face with Philosophy’s purity in the shower then follow up with this scrub.

wpid-IMG_20131214_011415.jpgMizon Snail recovery Gel – I initially enjoyed using this moisturizer on my face then soon felt that it wasn’t moisturizing enough.  I ended up finishing up this product as a body moisturizer.

CVS Makeup remover cloths – Just a basic makeup remover wipe.  Not the best but not too bad either.  Very budget friendly.  I have one more packs of these that are open and will probably be finished up in December.

Mission lip balm – Just a basic lipbalm, nothing special

Fresh Sugar Rose – I love this balm.  The sheer wash of color, the scent, the way it makes my lips feel… Its just incredible, however the one major downfall of this item?  It melts way too easily.

NHEB-05 Lotion – Received a sample of this and absolutely love how this feels and applies.  I plan on ordering a full size of this after I finish up my Christmas shopping

Armani Code – One of my liked fragrances.  I really enjoyed this scent when it first came out and still do enjoy it now.

Bvlgari – I believe this was Omnia but I don’t really remember and didn’t care to note it down as I didn’t enjoy the scent and finished using this just to finish it.  I enjoy other Bvlgari scents, mainly their tea ones, but this one was just too flowery and old lady smelling.

Fall Foliage and Sally Hansen Bronze Ablaze

Sally Hansen’s Bronze Ablaze is a gorgeous olivey brown with golden shimmer.  The color its absolutely gorgeous and I always get reminded of the fall leaves and brisk weather when I look at it.  As I passed the trees with their red and gold leaves, I felt the urge to write up a quick post about this pretty fall color.
